My husband %26amp; I (over 26) have from 4 - 6 July to travel from Geneve to Munich (must be in Munich 7 July). I would like advice on:
1) train routes and costs to get from Geneva - Füssen (ie cheapest / most scenic / interesting). Happy to look at combining with boat trip. Given the small time I would be keen to take train from Geneva straight across Switzerland and spend the time in Austria / southern Bavaria.
2) How could you travel/what is the cost from Geneva - Lindau (Bavaria)? I have tried to look at train information online, but no costing available. I thought if we made our way directly to Bavaria we could take advantage of the Bavaria ticket to travel(28Euro/day for both of us to travel).
3)The main thing I want to see is Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Would you recommend we base ourselves in Füssen for 3 nights (ie 4 - 6 July) or perhaps 2 nights in Füssen and could you suggest another great location
4) The other two destinations I was thinking about was Ruette %26amp; Innsbruck in Austria? Would appreciate any feedback, based on above commnents.
PS For this part of our trip the focus is on: castles (in tact, not in ruins), medieval villages, experiencing great local food, maybe a cable car, luge, mineral spa. (PS We are hotel or B%26amp;B people, rather than Hostel people)
Thankyou kindly for any assistance.

Most scenic:
Golden Pass route Geneva - Montreux - Zweisimmen - Interlaken - Luzern

Pre-Alpine Express Luzern - Romanshorn

You can use the Baden-Württemberg Ticket (similar to the Bavaria Ticket) from Basel SBB to Friedrichshafen or Lindau.
Or, as the 4. July is a Saturday, the Happy-Weekend-Ticket from Basel Bad Bf to Füssen.

Could you please tell me if I am reading the Golden Pass Rail timetable correctly? Eg Departs Geneve 10:36 and Arrives 17:10 Luzern?
www.goldenpass.ch/GPS/voyages/hor2009gpl.pdf
If so, might I be pushing it timewise to then try to go through to Fussen from Geneva in one day if going via Golden Pass rail? If so, where would you recommend would be a nice place to sty overnight? This would then mean I would do 2 nights in Füssen.
Thankyou for your assistance

Well Wee Poss I hope you have got all the information you need and you get to see as many castles as you want before you meet your other company!
Did you get the answer to the question where do you buy the bavarian shorts for your husband?
