My brother and I are going to be in Munich for 4 days starting May 1st 2009. We are 47 and 50 years old. We do plan on 1 or 2 day trips to Mittenwald or elsewhere, so will be taking the train a couple of times. Looks like the King%26#39;s Hotel 1st Class is near the main station, and the Holiday Inn City Center has a stop very close. Prices are about the same. Is one in a better location or has better rooms than the other. Any advice would be appreciated.

Both are in good locations, but I would choose the Kings.

Thanks for your advice. It looks like the King%26#39;s may be slightly closer to the action. It also isn%26#39;t an American chain hotel. Not traveling to Europe to stay in an American hotel and eat at McDonald%26#39;s!

%26quot;American%26quot; chain hotels can be quite a different experience in Europe. Many are just part of long term management contracts and I have been pleasantly surprised on more than one occasion.

Previous posting is very true. For example; the Sheraton Four Points in Munchen is much different than those in the U.S. Still has great service, ans a Bavarian style breakfast, etc.
