Frankfurt to Hamburg to Copenhagen

My sister and I will be traveling (on a budget)this summer from the USA to Copenhagen. We are considering flying into Frankfurt, spending a day or two (leisurely) sight seeing (by bus? boat? or train?)in Germany, then taking the train onto Hamburg. Any suggestions as to what we may see in this short time?

Once in Hamburg, what is the best (and most scenic) way to get to Copenhagen?

Thanks!

Susan:)

From Frankfurt you could travel through the Middle Rhine Valley to Cologne. By train or partly by boat if you like.

Hamburg to Copenhagen is through complete flat terrain. However there are some bigger bridges the trains cross and a part of the trip (Puttgarden to Roedby) is on board of a ferry.
