Bed and Breakfasts??

We are still looking for the right hotel...we looked at some of the B%26amp;B%26#39;s listed here on the website but haven%26#39;t found one that is the right place and the right location. Any suggestions for a nice B%26amp;B with air conditioning near the city center?

We are already considering the Hotel Blauer Bock, as well as several other hotels. We looked at the Mercure Hotel and it was not in our $150/night budget, so that is not an option.

Your search criteria is very limiting. Not many hotels in Deutschland, especially those under $150 - with AC..

The Blauer Block is very nice.

B%26amp;B with air conditioning? Very unlikely. Nobody has here in their private homes air conditioning.

That%26#39;s something for 4*/5* hotels.

Even if it is hot in June (no guarantee) it will cool down at night to acceptable temperatures.

e.g. June 2003 (a very hot June)

day/night temperatures in Munich

21. 23°C/13°C

23. 35°C/21°C

24. 26°C/17°C

As said this was one of the hottest Junes in history. It could be well that the day time temperatures stay below the 25°C and night temperatures fall below 10°C.

not sure, but maybe there%26#39;s a little confusion over B %26amp; B meaning. In UK,- I know you%26#39;re not from UK and the question is about Germany!- a B %26amp; B is perhaps not so upmarket as in the US- although very good, it tends to be a family-run relatively cheap place to stay. I think the nearest in Germany would be a pension.

I stay in a couple of hotels in Munich, both with a/c. Trouble is that even when daytime it is in the 80s, the a/c is often off.

I do stay in Apollo, and it%26#39;s clean and quiet, and cheap.

off the main drag, it%26#39;s only 4-5 mins walk to main station and 10 walk to Stachus.

You can find them at apollohotel.de

Thanks to all of you for your advice. So do you think that it is not necessary to have air conditioning in June in Munich? I posted a question about whether or not it is needed and wasn%26#39;t able to get a whole lot of suggestions on it. If it isn%26#39;t necessary to have air conditioning in June, then we will certainly go without....we had just heard otherwise...

I%26#39;ve been b****dy hot in Munich, but never in June. One August we stayed with another family in a hotel, and had room on opposite sides of the corridor. We propped our doors open and the windows to get a through blast. But by night time it was OK.

And that was 30plus C in daytime.

My sole but probably unhelpful advice is don%26#39;t choose a hotel that gets a lot of afternoon sun, or make sure your room doesn%26#39;t. Not very helpful simply because I couldn%26#39;t tell you which hotels meet that criterion, and most will have SOME rooms that do get warm in the pm.
