Hi,

the Schoenhouse apartments always get good reviews. The location is excellent, just on the edge of Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg.

Hi. I am also looking for an apartment for 6 nights in Berlin in early September. There is one at Leipziger Str. 49. is this an ok and convenient location?

Many thanks

Hi,

Leipziger Str. is perfectly fine. It%26#39;s a busy main road, not particularly nice but in walking distance to some of the most important sights. There also is a subway station just around the corner (Spittelmarkt).

Thanks Solid8.

So no cafe%26#39;s, bakers, small market stores?

We booked an apartment on Novalisstrasse through www.123berlinzimmer.de which was very nice. In fact only about 5 mins walk from those apartments on Invalidenstrasse you mention (but that bit nearer the sights).

Invalidenstrasse is a relatively main street with trams and bus routes but in Berlin even main traffic streets are not very busy. Not a particularly attractive street but many sights are walkable from there or S-Bahn at Nordbahnhof and U-Bahn at Zinnowitzstrasse.

Prenzlauer Berg is a prettier area but you have to get tram or U-Bahn into centre for sightseeing.

We (two adults, two teenage sons) spent 3 days at Stadmitte Drei apartment at 44 Leipzigerstr (see http://www.waytostay.com/Berlin-apartments-en-222-2605.htm) and it was excellent.

Apart from being clean, well-equipped and very sensibly designed it was close to transport (two S-bahn stops within say 250m), close to shops (Lidl and a bakery were 50m away, with other stores, restaurants and shops within 150m) and quiet becasue it was set back from the street.

Most importantly, it was close to many of the things we wanted to see: Unter den Linden was a 5-8 min walk, Babelplatz perhaps 5 min, SonyCentre and Potsdamer platz a pleasant 12 min walk and the old Checkpoint Charlie was only some 200m away.

Highly recommended!

I stayed in www.berlinplace.com

It%26#39;s 5 stops from Alexander Platz and has lots of cafes, restauarnts and bars nearby. It%26#39;s a quiet area but close to everything with a really nice local vibe
