Schönefeld Airport to Etap Hotel Berlin Potsdamer Platz

Hi,

Been trying to find the best way from Schönefeld Airport to Anhalter Strasse 6 (Etap Hotel) (and vice versa) at this site:

fahrinfo-berlin.de/Fahrinfo/bin/query.bin/en…

and for some reason it does not give me the follow itinerary which I Think is the easiest:

taking the AirportExpress Schönefeld until Berlin- Friedrichstrasse. Get out here and take S1 (direction Potzdam) and get out at Anhalter banhof.

Is this itineray feasible or am I making any mistake? How long do you think the trip will last? I have a return flight at 7:25 at Schönefeld so at what time do you think I must leave my hotel? ( I have to be in the airport 2 hours before the departure time). Is it true this train starts at 5 am? IS that to late? And if so are there public transportation alternatives?

Thanks so much in advance,

Alface

This route is possible.

%26gt; How long do you think the trip will last?

~ 1 hour

The BVG timtable (www.fahrinfo-berlin.de) will give you the fastest connections. Even if a travel time of 1 minute more would save you 2 changes.

You could make of course to queries.

Anhalter Strasse 6 to Friedrichstr. Bahnhof

and

Friedrichstr. Bahnhof to SXF

As this is an inner Schengen flight it is sufficient if you arrive at 6:00-6:15 at Schönefeld Airport.

BVG timetable will give you answers for the other questions.

Thanks so much abalada for your precise reply :)

yes your itinerary is the best (it%26#39;s one I%26#39;ve used staying at that hotel (so what does BVG suggest instead I wonder?). At Friedrichstrasse the the S-Bahn line you need is underground for north-south route (the overground S_Bahn is cross-city east-west).

Check the exact departure times at Friedrichstrasse for airport express (ordinary DB timetable) and work out what time you need to leave the hotel to fit in with that . S-Bahn timetable for Anhalter Bahnhof is posted in theh station.

The Airport Express runs only every half-hour so you don%26#39;t want to miss it by a minute or two! The S-Bahn runs every 20 mins but takes a lot longer to get to Schönefeld.

If you are flying Easyjet you don%26#39;t need to be there 2 hours before, that is when check-in opens (it closes 40 mins before departure). The security check-point is right next to check-in and the departure lounge upstairs so you don%26#39;t have to allow lots of time for moving from place to place in the airport itself.

Have just looked at the BVG site and see they send you via Südkreuz with S-Bahn. My personal choice would definitely be via Friedrichstrasse and with airport express if possible.

Thanks Lynda for your input and advice. I am flying Easyjet and your input on the checkin at schoenfeld will come in hand.
