Every year we go to Berlin on business and spend 4 nights at the Estrel in the old Eastern side...... need I say more. This year we get to stay one night on the other side and I get to chose. So please save me hours of sifting through all the forums and hotel reviews and give me the best hotel in the best central location for roughly $230 -$250. Please help with suggestions

%26gt; Estrel in the old Eastern side
The Estrel is in Neukölln. This was West-Berlin.
%26gt; ... need I say more
Neukölln was called till 1912 Rixdorf. The cause for the renaming was the bad reputation the name Rixdorf had already at this time (it became only part of Berlin in 1920).
I would suggest to stay in the district Mitte. Thus on the old Eastern side ;-)
The Adlon

Hotel de Rome

However there are quite a number of more good 5* hotels in Berlin-Mitte. Certainly no harm to check for a good offer price wise. E.g. using

I think i didnt make myself clear. All i know is that i always spend four nights in this lonely area at the estrel while my husband is doing business. now i get one night in western europe before we go there. so im looking for a hotel in the exciting part of berlin

The two hotels offered are in %26quot;exciting%26quot; areas. You can also try (might fit your budget better than the Adlon/Hotel de Rome), the following:
- Arcotel Velvet
- Lux 11
- Park Inn
(all four stars)
- Arena (three stars)

Do are these hotels in west berlin where all the shops are like kadewe etc. Thats the area im looking for., like where the Hollywood hotel is.

No, they are nto near the KaDeWe (actually in the East, where most sites are, and close to the shops, I%26#39;m afraid you have some misconception about East Berlin...).
Nevertheless, here are a few hotels close to the KaDeWe:
Four stars:
The Ellington
Alsterhof
Crowne Plaza
Five stars:
Intercontinental
Palace Hotel
