The 2nd map shows only the U-Bahn lines and has generally less information. If this is really of advantage for the visitors ...
The ultimate map is anyway this one:
bvg.de/index.php/…1
Albeit with 2,0 m x 1,4 m not exactly in pocket format.
|||
I really don´t understand you problem.
Map 1 is the ultimate one.
U-bahn,S-bahn,Trams.
Everything is marked up with different colours.
At the end of every branch it´s printed out,
S or U.
You can select,show only U,S,bla,bla.
I,ve got lost in Berlin a couple of times but I dont blame it to the maps,maybe the beer.

That Japanese map is a nightmare, it%26#39;s not particularly comprehensible, and, as Alabada says, leaves out loads of detail. The Berlin map is based quite heavily on the London map, and would anyone call that hard to use?
|||
I have never had any problems using the official BVG map, there is nothing wrong with it. This might be a user problem, not a map problem.
|||
Not intending any disrespect, but really the BVG map isn%26#39;t bad at all. I%26#39;m not overly competent when looking at a bunch of lines going various directions, but I have never become lost using it. It%26#39;s better than most, though I concede that the sheer density of the U- and S-bahn lines might be intimidating for some.
|||
For anyone than has a pda or smartphone there is a good alternative
http://metro.nanika.net/MetroA-en.html
I`ve used it in Prague , Paris and Venice and it has never let me down
|||
Just to confuse matters even more I%26#39;d also like to see the BVG map to include major bus routes in the centre too!
|||
Hi metropolis57,
I agree with a previous poster the problem is the user not the map. Maybee the fact that Madeira Island has no subway or any train service whatsoever helps explaining your dificulties.
All the best,
Alface
