Berlin-Magdeburg

Good morning all:-)

I am travelling from Athens to Magdeburg for the first time and I wish you could help me getting there more easy and faster. I found that the nearest airport is Berlin. After that what is the best way to Magdeburg?

Berlin has 2 airports: Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF).

You can check connections with the DB timetable

The closest airport with the easiest train connections is Leipzig/Halle - no idea if there are flights from Athens though. If there are, you have a direct IC train from the station at the airport to Magdeburg with out any changes or transfers.

Another option besides Berlin might be Hannover.

There are cheap flights into Berlin from Athens with Easyjet www.easyjet.com and Air Berlin www.airberlin.de

Most likely now in winter there are less flights but give it shot.

Then you can take the train which is the most inexpensive way to get to Magdeburg. Check the German railway website www.bahn.de for more info.
