hotels

I am travelling to Hamburg for a weekend in March. I would like any recommendations for a 4/5 star hotel though not the top end ot the category, maybe 120 GBP a night. What do people think of Hotel Side for example?

Even the top hotels in Hamburg, offer great weekend rates. Raffles Hotel Vier Jahresjeiten has single rooms for around 170eruos with breakfast. This would be my first choice, as it%26#39;s the best hotel in the city and the only one located on the Binneralster. Other alternatives in classic atmosphere are the Kempinski and the Abtei, a lovely small hotel in a leafy neighbourhood. In modern/design style my first choice would be Park Hyatt and then Le Royal Meridien. Side Hotel is nice , but in my opinion not in the same league as the others. Other options are the Dorint Sofitel, Steigenberger, Marriott, Renaissance and Elysee Grand.

Have a nice

Have a nice stay in Hamburg!!

My family and I stayed at the Elysee. It was really nice and the rooms are really contemporary. Plus, it%26#39;s right next to a train station, so you%26#39;re relativey close to everything. You%26#39;re also in the heart of the university area, so there%26#39;s interesting places to eat too.

Hi, I wonder whether you could possibly give me some hotel advice too? I%26#39;m going to Hamburg with my husband at the end of May for three nights. I used to go to uni in Hamburg but thats many years ago. I used to live near Pöseldorf which I remember as pretty, trendy and fun. obviously we%26#39;ll also want to go to the centre for shopping and maybe to the Elbmeile for dinner. I am torn whether to stay in Vier Jahreszeiten which is central and luxurious but also perhaps a bit too traditional and %26#39;grand%26#39;, the Abtei which is right up our street by the looks of it, but maybe a bit too far away from the action, and Hotel Garni Mittelweg which is in cute Pöseldorf but I%26#39;m not sure whether it is chic enough for us. Any feedback would be much appreciated. We are quite spolied, we live in London and we generally like pretty small boutique hotels. We also want to give a dinner for our German friends (in 40s), so if anyone has any recommendations for a good place with good food and ambience which would be good for a table of 10(ish), please advise. Thanks!

Thanks. I remember the Hotel Stern well from my student days. Fun as it is, this time I have something a bit more upmarket and genteel in mind!

The Park Hyatt is very nice, attentive staff but also fairly relaxed. Restaurant is also good
