Bremen in March / Places to Eat / Bars

A number of us will be coming to Bremen in March for 3 nights on a stag do. Fortunately, we are a well behaved lot and are just coming to experieince a bit of German culture, food, a few Steins and a tour of the Becks brewery.

As part of this, I would like to book a meal for approx. 30 people and wondering if anybody has any recommendations? Somewhere that it quite large, good atmosphere and good German dishes. Typically somewhere reasonably German where we can enjoy a good beer too!

I hear the best place to go for drinks is the Schletchte by the river.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks

for a big group meal you could try the ratskeller (the old wine cellars under the town hall) in the middle of town. www.ratskeller-bremen.de. They%26#39;ll almost certainly have enough space and they do decent german food. Friesenhof around the corner is also good - probably a bit cheaper too but less atmospheric.

for traditional steins of beer try the Bremer Hofbrauhaus, just around the corner from the ratskeller at Domsheide. www.bremen-hofbraeuhaus.de/ There%26#39;s also the shuttinger Brauerei - a decent local which brews it%26#39;s own beer (that just behind a building called the Schutting on the market square).

the schlachte does have some decent bars but not necessarily very traditional - from memory there are more modern bars down there.
