Hi,
Can you use a Bavaria ticket to travel to Fussen return, from Munich, and then that evening go to Salzburg?
Thanks :)

Yes.
Will be a long day however.

And on a weekday Bavaria ticket is only from 9am so dependent on what you go to Fussen for you%26#39;d be a bit pushed for time. Weekend no such restriction .

We are planning a day trip to Salzburg from Munich. I checked the Deutsche Bahn train schedule and it allows us to book a train before 9am on Friday April 10, 2009, offering the Bavaria ticket (there are four of us.)I thought that the Bavaria Ticket only allowed us to travel after 9am on weekdays. Is it allowing us to travel before 9am because that day is Good Friday? (I%26#39;m not sure if Good Friday is an official holiday or not.)
Also, can we purchase the Bavaria ticket at the train station or should we book our tickets in advance? I am leaning toward waiting until we get there and purchasing in the morning, but want to make sure we wouldn%26#39;t run into a problem of the trains being sold out.
One more thing: if we travel to Salzburg on Good Friday, will shops, museums, restaurants be open? We don%26#39;t want to waste the day going if we are unable to see or do anything when we get there!
Thank you!

%26gt; Is it allowing us to travel before 9am because that day is Good Friday?
Yes. Good Friday is an official holiday.
%26gt; Also, can we purchase the Bavaria ticket at the train station
Yes. Actually anywhere you can buy tickets. E.g. also at U-Bahn and tram stops from the machines there.
%26gt; or should we book our tickets in advance?
No. Doesn%26#39;t have any advantages.
%26gt; but want to make sure we wouldn%26#39;t run into a problem of the trains being sold out.
Trains cannot sell out.
Bavaria Ticket is only good for regional trains where seat reservations are not possible.
I see there zero problems on Good Friday morning as there are no commuters, pupils, students etc. on the trains. And Munich and Salzburg are the start/end point of these trains. Thus if you%26#39;re there in time (5-10 minutes) you%26#39;ll have free choice.
%26gt; if we travel to Salzburg on Good Friday, will shops, museums, restaurants be open?
Shops will be closed apart from a couple of souvenir shops. Most museums and restaurants will be open.
For %26quot;normal%26quot; shopping Munich is anyway the better choice (but no difference on what is closed on Good Friday between both).

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate this information.
