Please advise if there are any ferries plying on the Rhine between the above towns in late march/early april?

Without looking up, as far as I can remember there is only one daily run in winter.

thanks for this. i see that this sails north to Dusseldorf. i think the one i am looking for is sailing from Bingen to Sainkt Goar....... not the same right?

From 21. March on the Off Season timetable applies.

One connection from Mainz to St. Goar Friday - Monday. However more options between Bingen and St. Goar. The part Mainz to Bingen is anyway not that interesting.

Bingen-Rüdesheimer is an alternative to Köln-Düsseldorfer between Bingen and St. Goar. However the timetable you linked to starts only from 4. April on.
