Luxembourg Airport to Trier

Can someone recommend the best way of getting from Luxembourg Airport to Trier?

I see there is a bus but the timings are bad and it doesn%26#39;t seem to run very frequently. Is there another bus service?

Also if the only option is taxi what would be the cost?

Alternative is bus #16 to Luxembourg City train station and from there by train to Trier.
