Hi,
I will be bringing a group of 11 college students to Berlin in May; I%26#39;m looking for a hotel (not a hostel) that is (1) in a convenient and safe location; (2) clean; (3) reasonably nice; and (4) reasonably inexpensive. In the past we have had triple or quad rooms for the students which have worked out well. I was thinking perhaps an apartment-type hotel would work well (we%26#39;ll be staying six nights). Last summer I stayed in Prenzlauer Berg, which was great, though it seems a bit expensive. (But it would be nice for the students to be able to go out in the evening without having to travel very far if they didn%26#39;t want to). Ideally we would spend no more than 40 Euros per student per night (80 Euro double, or 120 triple), though we could go a little higher--say 50/100/150 Euros--if we needed to.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I%26#39;ve been with school groups booked into Hotel Tiergarten on Alt Moabit (street) near the new Interior Ministry at Spreebogen. Not as attractive surroundings as Prenzlauer Berg but central, and U-Bahn at Turmstrasse and S_Bahn station Bellevue are handy. TXL airport bus from Tegel to Alexanderplatz stops practically outside the door too.
The building has two long wings (you can find it easily on google maps); it was originally built as housing for army officers in the late 19th century and has triples and quads available.
The buffer breakfast included in the price is absolutely amazing, esp. for a 3-star hotel. I%26#39;ve stayed there with my husband too (not just with the groups!. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
