help touring from frankfurt

We are going to New York transitting in Frankfurt. We have been to France and Italy but not the rest of Europe. I was thinking of staying over for a few days in Frankfurt to enjoy the city and going to lucerne, black forest, mt titles, etc.

Is it possible for us to drive down to switzerland since it takes only around 5 hours. I%26#39;d love to see the scenery of icy mountain and snow since we have come from a tropical country. We are party of 6, (a couple with 2 children, grandma %26amp; grandpa). Or will it be easier for us to use guided tour service from frankfurt. I was thinking driving would save us some money since we are going to spent sometimes in florida as well in US. We only speaks english and we have never been to germany. are we going to have difficulties touring by ourselves?

hello mchendra,

there are bus tours departing from frankfurt to switzerland or the black forest. this might be an option, if you could tell the time when you are frankfurt i could check a little further.

you could also rent a car and drive down to switzerland, just like you sid it is only a five-hour drive ot the border. driving is easy in germany, it should be no problem fo your to find the right direction.

on the other hand, once you are in frankfurt, you could check some nearby attractions:

middle rhine valley (especially nice with a boat trip)
