Basically from any. The more north in Switzerland, the closer to the Black Forest, the better.

If you stay IN the Black Forest (i.e. not one of the bigger cities at the edge of it) you%26#39;ll receive a KONUS guest card. This card covers all local public transport in the Black Forest area. I.e. regional trains and buses.

You can use this card to travel back as far as Basel/Switzerland.

a) Zürich - Singen - Donaueschingen - Titisee - (bus) Feldberg - Zell im Wiesental - (train) Basel - Zürich
stopovers: Titisee and Feldberg (bus stop Feldbergerhof; served hourly)
Feldberg is the highest peak of the Black Forest.

b) Zürich - Singen - Donaueschingen - Titisee - (Hell Valley Railroad) Freiburg - Basel - Zürich
stopovers: Titisee and Freiburg
freiburg.de/servlet/…index.html
c) Zürich - Singen - Donaueschingen - Villingen - (Black Forest Railroad) - Triberg - Offenburg - Basel - Zürich
stovers: Triberg
eventuelly Vogtsbauernhof (Black Forest Open Air Museum) or Gengenbach

If it comes to tunnels the most intersting route. However also the longest route.

You could buy in Singen a Baden-Württemberg Ticket Single (EUR 19,00). This ticket covers the regional trains and buses on the above routes.
a) till Basel
b) till Freiburg (if you stick to regional trains also to Basel)
c) till Offenburg (if you stick to regional trains also to Basel)
DB timetable

From: Zuerich
To: Titisee
To: Feldbergerhof
To: Zell im Wiesental
To: Titisee
To: Freiburg
To: Triberg
To: Vogtsbauernhof
To: Gengenbach
You have to query step by step. I.e. first to Titisee and than from Titisee to Freiburg (and finally from Freiburg to Zürich). Otherwise the timetable will send you the faster route around the Black Forest.

From a scenic viewpoint I wouldn%26#39;t advise the route via Singen-Donaueschingen. Consider the version Zurich-Basel-Zell im Wiesental-Titisee-Freiburg-Zurich or vice versa. For Titsee village and the lake Titisee give %26quot;Titisee Bahnhof%26quot; as destination.

Hi,
We stayed in Luzern last October and travelled from there to the Black Forest. We drove from Luzern to Rheinfall (took about 1 hour). This was a great place to stop and look around for an hour or so. WE then drove onto Titisee (another hour). We stayed on Lake Titisee at Hotel Brugger am See, which I would recommend. We spent the next day driving through the Black Forest, stopping at lots of trails and walking along the way.
Luzern is beautiful and so is the Black Forest. You would be able to see a lot in a couple of days.
Have a great time!
