Hi Guys does anyone know of any good cheap breakfast establishments near the Angleterre Hotel in Friedrichstrasse? the hotel breakfast is expensive and we would probably like a fry up and a beer lol cheers !

There are plenty of lower priced hotels in Berlin that DO offer breakfast, so why not stay in one of them instead? The Germans aren%26#39;t that big on doing a %26quot;fryup%26quot; for breakfast, unless you are staying in a hotel that specializes in catering to British tourists. It is more often a choice of meats, cheeses, a soft boiled egg and a variety of breads and croissant. Sometimes you will find omelettes or scrambled eggs on offer. Otherwise you might just have to find a cafe that is doing breakfast. Hopefully, one of the Berlin locals will answer your question better than I did.

thanks buddy but we have already booked the hotel on a room only basis.....heard there might be some places %26quot;across the street%26quot; anyone know of them ? thanks

The area around the Angleterre is not well known for many cafes and restaurants serving breakfast; and as mentioned before, fried up breakfast is usually served in Germany in %26quot;Irish Pubs%26quot; or in cafes serving it as %26quot;English Breakfast%26quot;.
If you%26#39;re willing to eat a %26quot;cold%26quot; breakfast, however, you will have no problems - anywhere in Berlin you can find bakeries serving buns, rolls, danish cakes, sausages (OK, there%26#39;s something warm there), and of course coffee/tea.

When we stayed at the Angleterre about 3 years ago we had breakfast at the Cafe Adler directly opposite Checkpoint Charlie. There was also a place beyond Checkpoint Charlie, on Friedrichstrasse where we stopped whilst on a walking tour. Both were quite reasonable.
